Pandora threw this at me earlier. I'm always fascinated by it, because it's so clearly about global warming? It's really obviously about global warming. But it's not!

"It was written during the whole Rodney King thing. The song was basically a social and racial battle cry. It was a sort of "Can't we all get along?" song for the time when I wrote it. It was just about all the things that were going on around me as a young person. And I'm, like, God, what is going on? I don't understand why this is happening. It's like we might as well be walking around a planet on fire. And that's how it came about."

Just amazed at how well it works in this other framework.

Anyway, it's also a great song.

First phase of the fight is just ominous whispering that just barely sounds like it could be real words. Once you get all the enemies down that first time, they merge together and this comes on in the background. It has been stuck in my head for the past two weeks or so. Partly due to just that I'm naturally inclined to like songs where people are singing different sets of words at the same time.

But it also comes from just how well tied into the story of the game it ends up being. Philip, the poor sap that turned into the things that you fight during this, is having a very bad time, and the Speak no/See no/Hear no theme from the song is also present in both the monster design, the mechanics of the fight itself, and the writing around the fight. It links in with everything nice and tight and added to the experience of that long and confusing fight.

Have a couple of the Robert Hallow songs (context) -- and yeah, giving them a proper listen, they aren't just similar to Amazing Devil but very derivative. Still, that's not exactly a bad thing, if you like Amazing Devil

Today's random bandcamp album is Pony Pack's Enough About You

Digging it, feels a bit like Night in the Woods' soundtrack

Someone in my discord reminded me that Voices Carry still exists, and so I've been listening to that incessantly again.
