ash and I did indeed get the sunshade installed today -- unfortunately when I went to wind it back up this evening, it collapsed. Nothing's broken that I saw (touch wood), my belief is that it just came loose on one side. We're going to re-hang it tomorrow and do what we can to keep that from happening again

But before that we're going to a reptile show! Excited to go see all the reptiles, I wish I were in a position to be able to buy one. Maybe next year

Reptile expo was fun! We came home with zero herps (as planned) but also I want all the reptiles. It was very crowded, especially around the exhibits, so we didn't look around very much at them, but we did get to see a bunch of venomous snakes from behind a 'warning: do not cross this line' line. There was king cobra that was much bigger than I thought king cobras were! There was also an alligator turtle in a giant tub and a regular alligator in a 'petting zoo' set-up. We did not pet the alligator

In general you go to these shows and feel a little bad for the animals -- it's not a good environment for them, with a lot of movement and noise and people poking at you, and they've generally been packed into a car to be transported to the show, and the containers they're in are always very small. Also generally, it's not too bad for them and they come out of it fine. I do feel extra bad for the chameleons on display, though. There was also an iguana that was in very bad shape, and a couple sellers whose animals had me convinced to steer clear of them, like a gecko breeder whose geckos had almost all lost their tails.

But! ash has a line on who he wants to buy his frogs from and came back with a couple mossy sticks, and I got to look at a bunch of scaley babies.

We've now also re-hung the sunshade, and hopefully it won't be falling again any time soon (touch wood). We couldn't tighten the screws on it, so we just hammered in some nails behind it, and with luck those'll hold the ends in place

I did a little garden maintenance (spraying for aphids) but now am going to rest my legs for a while. We swung by the dollar store on the way home and I got a shitload of packs of flower seeds (more marigolds and morning glories) but those'll wait for planting 'til later in the week. I also should have this year's rose shipping soon -- this coming tuesday, per my confirmation email

Next year I want to see about starting the marigolds early, in like february, but I'm not sure I'll have the wherewithal to do it. We'll see

As soon as the last blanket is out of the drier and put away, I will have both successfully washed my bedding and summerised it. I've returned all of the blankets I've borrowed from the household for winter, and shoved the heavier blankets into my closet (to be more properly sorted away at a later date). I'm down to four blankets, plus a top sheet, which will become less as the weather continues to warm up

I need to clean out Oz's litterbox, and then I'm done for the night and can go to bed -- again, as soon as the last blanket is done drying

Looking forward to going to sleep at a reasonable time, and hopefully getting enough of it

So two months ago, I woke up with my eyes super inflamed, super light-sensitive, felt like they were full of sand. It was awful, but I flushed them out with clean water and went back to sleep to let them rest, and when I woke up again they were mostly fine. Figured I'd gotten something in my eyes that scratched my corneas while I was asleep, since I'd been doing yard-work that day and spraying dirt off of things with a hose. Didn't think too deeply about it after it was over.

Today I woke up with one of my eyes super inflamed. No idea what I could have done to irritate it, this time, possibly both incidences have been allergies, though it would be weird for it to just be the one eye. It actually feels like the inside of the eyelid got cut or scratched and that's the issue, but I flushed it out when I woke up, went back to sleep hoping it would be better again, and then woke up and it was better but then rapidly got worse. Flushed it again, went back to sleep, and now I'm in the same position again -- felt better, getting worse. I think I'll need to keep it closed and covered until whatever's wrong with it is healed, and of course doctor if it keeps being an issue

Unfortunately there was an Arcadia recording scheduled today, and part of it is recordings that have needed to be rescheduled already, which is annoying. But I can't read fluidly with just one eye, and keeping using the other one is probably making things worse. Also, obviously, missed the torah study

Okay, I have finangled my eye-mask to be an eye-patch, I'm going to, go figure out something to do with myself that doesn't involve too much seeing.

This happened again this morning (currently at 'woke up feeling better, possibly getting worse again?)

It is allergy season again, but it's still weird for it to happen in just one eye, and I was only outside long enough yesterday to water one of the roses, I've definitely spent more time outside in more pollen on different days

I cleaned and refilled the cat's litterbox yesterday, but don't remember doing that in specific before either of the other two incidences, and obviously have done that between the last incidence and now without issue. Same with laundry

I did put lotion on my face before bed last night and remember doing that before the last incidence if not the first - this is my best guess, that the lotion is getting into my eye in my sleep. I'll have to be more careful about it, and hopefully it doesn't happen again

But if it does, that's a list of possible triggers, off the top of my head. I didn't do anything else yesterday but hang out with ash in the living room and play video games in mine. It's the right eye again, which I believe it also was the second time

Going to mention 'pinkeye' to make this easy to search for in future

Sigh, I'm so sad! The game finally killed my PlateUp! run, by giving me fish and refusing to let me get rid of it. For some reason the mod to remove menu items has been working fine for everything else, but does not work for fish

Overtime 43, fifteen menu items, a beautiful kitchen layout. I commented on the mod, maybe they'll be able to fix it, but as of right now this run is over. :(

Good news, the run is saved! The mod dev's reply to my comment made me realise that I could access the save files in the game, and after some digging I discovered that the game keeps a number of saves for a given run instead of overwriting them, which means I can roll back to just before I broke the run by choosing fish and choose burgers instead. The run continues!
