I had a lovely weekend! It was more needed than maybe I even realized, since I feel pretty refreshed for a Monday. Baby Dog definitely enjoyed herself, at one point she was so tired from all the excitement she was falling asleep standing up. Sophie and I also finished season one of Babylon 5 and started season two!

Love this book! It does still suffer in places from what these books are (again, gritty science fantasy westerns written by a man in the 1980s) but, listen,

Despite my proclivities for OTP Go Smooch I tend to play with my own dollies, so to speak, and am not usually invested in fictional couples otherwise. But Mayerling (or Meier Link, for some reason, in the English dub of VHD: Bloodlust) and Charlotte go to the moon and have a million dhampir babies don't @ me
also one of my favorite instances of D being a socially awkward asexual is in this one; Leila is very dramatically giving pieces of her trauma backstory and D suggests she leave the monster-hunting business, since it does not appear to be doing her much good, and she does the "I have too much blood on my hands" line to which D almost verbatim goes "Have you tried washing them"
