Woke up at 8:30 this morning with a pain flare, so I'm a little out of it today. I did end up back asleep until noon, but it took a while

I did bake cakes last night and frosted them earlier today, and I confirmed with dad that it'll be alright if I come over tomorrow. Recorded an arcadia that went well. Sprinkler guy came over and fixed our sprinklers, but the events surrounding this caused a lot of stress in house chat that I don't want to go into right now -- the important thing is that the sprinklers work.

I just zoned out for like half an hour and forgot I was writing this post so I'm just going to end it here

Did indeed get over to dad's yesterday, and gave him a quarter of one of the cakes. He gave me my birthday present (money), since my birthday is soon enough and schedules are such, that it's not a guarantee I'll get over there again before it. I'd like to, though

We talked for a while and then watched some Battle Bots until ash showed up to take me home -- Battle Bots is at once exactly the same as it was when I watched it in middle/high school and also extremely different

The money is enough that I'm going to put it immediately toward a steamdeck and get that next month.

Today I let myself sleep in, which was nice, but now I'm pretty groggy and out of it again. I'll go do some yardwork and maybe the sun will wake me up more properly. Plan today is to get the morning glories in the ground, and of course to water a couple of the plants. I have set up a rotation so everything gets watered 2-3 times a week, which should be enough for everyone.

I also want to get some cleaning done in my room, and to spend at least an hour just focusing on some kind of creative project and see how that goes. And a shower. Also I should move the bird scares around so birds don't catch on that they're not alive.

I want to wash my hair, cut it off, shower, water plants, record for BSFF, then play board/card games with ash.

Plan went mostly successful! I did just cut my hair and didn't properly shave it or whatever, I decided to just leave it for a day or two. But recorded a couple scenes for the BSFF season finale and that went alright -- the director was not super good at directing and there are definitely things I would have asked for differently, but it got done.

Hung out for a bit, read to ash while he made dinner, ate dinner and watched a couple ATLA episodes, then! Board/card games! We played a couple rounds of Hive, which is fun if a little annoying to put the pieces in the right orientation -- it's not super my kind of game, but I enjoyed playing it and I like that I can mostly just kind of ignore what the other person is doing and just do my own thing. I think it would really click for me if I played it a few more times

We played a few hands of cribbage (like four or five I think?), which is an extremely weird game that ash really likes and I'd never played before -- I do not think I'll ever really get the hang of it but it doesn't actually require getting the hang of. And then we played crazy eights! Which I love, and ash seemed to really enjoy once we actually started playing.

Next month my plan is to make us play the Deadly Premonition board game, which I haven't played in yonks but remember being pretty fun. I'm glad we've started doing a game night, it makes me happy.

It is exceedingly rare for someone’s full name to be used — names are not generally considered a list, as they are for humans. Less that I am “Eivet Eskeir Thania Liasa” and more that I am Eivet, and Eskeir, and Thania, and Liasa. You don’t call me Eskeir Thania, but whichever name befits our relationship and the roles we are both currently playing.

I do want to pick an adposition to put between the family names, like ‘name of family of family of family, etc’.

(NB that ketal family units do not map 1:1 onto human family units, and the use of the term “parents” here is not wholly accurate, but will serve for now.)

Changed the bandage on my hand which means I got a good look at the cut under it while it isn't pouring blood everywhere, and it ain't barely look like nothin'. It honestly probably doesn't even need a new bandaid, but I put one on it just in case. It's clean now and if it starts bleeding a little it won't get all on my pillowcase or whatever. Should heal up completely fine

Still tender of course, but it hasn't really hurt at all since yesterday. Good to confirm it's nothing serious, or even only slightly funny

Today has been.

Oz woke me up at 8 (4-5 hours of sleep), and then I stayed awake until 11 because I knew she'd keep trying to wake me up if I went back to sleep. At 11, went back to sleep for a couple restless hours, and woke up again at 2 at which point I decided to get up. Whereupon I have discovered that this is a Bad Pain Day due to weather. Very ow.

The delta breeze has brought cooler temperatures and possible rain for the coming week. Which is nice! And also, again, ow.

Have already watered, going to spend the rest of the day taking it easy.
