Rosen assumes the beginning is just a case of "bad acting" performed by a man who has already envisioned the rest of the film. Consequently Rosen seriously undervalues the importance of Navidson's initial intentions.

Is this about me? (ie, the audience)

I need to think about all this. What does it mean for the mystery footnote? What does it mean for the long footnote? Hmm.

I forgot to do Oz's pill today, so she yelled at me until I remembered. What a good baby!

She is unfortunately also a bad baby because she peed on my bed this morning even though ash was so kind as to clean out her litterbox when I couldn't due to that whole presyncope thing, or whatever it was. And she pooped in the litterbox so I know it's not that she won't use it -- I don't know what her issue is, but I am so tired of washing bedding constantly, I don't have time to do any other laundry

Anyway, so I've been doing laundry all morning/afternoon. It's going predictably -- stuff is coming out of the dryer damp, washes are ending with stuff still soapy -- but it's going.

In unrelated but still frustrating events, I got an overdue bill last friday from PT-guy's office, for $300, so today I called him to find out what's going on with that. He's going to call his billing people to check on it, I put even odds on it coming back 'no, yeah, that's a legit bill please pay it' and 'don't worry about it, it's taken care of'. We'll see what happens

That medical bills are constantly showing up months or years after you get a service done seems problematic to me, and I think something ought to be done about it. Not sure what, but it sucks to get a bill for hundreds of dollars out of the blue well after you thought everything was squared away

Let's start with a complete revamp of medical insurance systems, perhaps

I've also finally got the program for extracting readable files out of Stardew Valley working again. I needed that because I want to re-translate some of the stuff I've already worked on, but didn't keep the original files. This will be good for testing the new politeness registers and aligning the dialogue to fit with that system instead of the previous design. I don't think I'll do any work on that today, but when I feel like it I can just fire it up and start working, now.

I'd planned on moving back into the bedroom in a bit, but now that Oz is pilled she's chilling behind me so I may hang out in here for a while longer.

It was an issue with my secondary insurance, so is in fact a 'don't worry about it', so that's good news

I just found a roly poly in our yard! I was a little sad last year that we didn't seem to have any -- I love them, they're adorable and neat

I keep marvelling at how much more life there is in our yard, after putting any work into it at all. Birds, bugs, squirrels -- maybe I'll see more lizards, too!

I will have Thoughts about House of Leaves. I only stopped reading last night because I was losing track of stuff. Interestingly, I stopped at said 4 page footnote.

futureAsh, remember you want to talk about how the specific style of the writing is reminding you of other literary classics, specifically Lolita, and dig into why that is, or if it was just a product of a tired brain. Also remeber it was reminding you of philosophy texts and litcrit text but twisted (not actually referencing the original text in useful ways. Assuming the audience has information we don’t, and have no way to). Also comment on how all the stuff about this guy writing on every available paper gave you Feelings (and /strongly/ reminded you of that thing in Thud with Methodia Rascal)

.how quick bright things come to confusion.

Productivity today was organising my steam library into categories (a thing it should honestly be able to just do for me automatically, and which even manually does not do well), and then organised Stardew characters into the new register paradigm -- namely, how inferior/superior/equal they are to the player. Could definitely have gotten more done, but eh.

I have also now watered the plants; everything is doing well except the marigolds, which by now has me concerned they won't show up

ash hasn't been feeling well the past couple days, so we've been isolating from each other, in part to avoid me also getting sick but mostly so he can get some proper rest. But that means I've been in my room doing a lot of fuckall, honestly -- I played through that Sonic murder mystery game yesterday, and dug through some pictures looking for good wallpapers. Today I'm going to find something mindless to play and put on some old Game Grumps to zone out to

If you have the brain for it I would love to hear some recommendations from your Steam library, I feel like you've played a lot of PC games and would have Opinions on some hidden gems
