Got up this morning, got some work done Identity, but cut myself off with plenty of time to go to the hardware store and do some stuff in the yard.

I pulled all the seasonal stuff out of the cargo garden, because it had all basically grown and died, and was starting to look really ragged and annoying me. I had already transplanted some of the perennials, so I got 7 of the strawberries moved, 4 into pots, and 3 into another hanging basket (which has been hung out of the way such that the Monarch won’t hit his head on it when he’s out there).

I transplanted the purple Sage into a much nicer pot, and moved it over by the bougainvillea. It needed more sun and less water than it was getting.

I got a third hydrangea and another low-light plant (I cannot remember the name. Grows low to the ground with little pinkish flowers). The hydrangea went with the others, the other one went in the sage’s old pot and spot.

I have proper soaker hoses coming in the mail today, so I’m going to trade out the makeshift ones I have, and set up a new system for the cargo garden. I think for now I’ll skip running lines to the hydrangeas, because what I’m reading sounds like they don’t like soil to stay too damp. But I’ve got the tools to set it up for a line I can run to there when I want it, and cap when I don’t, which is nice.

Oh, I also found some runners from the Japanese morning glory over along the back fence, so I’ve tried to get them started training into the chain link, but they’ve shown they’re very sensitive to being moved, so like as not they’ll die. But it was either train onto the chain link or get cut off, so no huge loss.

I love this house. I’m really pleased with how we’re keeping it, and what we’re doing with the yard, and I really hope we get to stay here for a long while. I’m trying not to stress about that because it won’t do any good, but it’s hard not to.

I am feeling disorganized today, so making a list of need to do stuff.

Need to do soon

  • get chicken in marinade for tonight
    - get laundry started
  • switch laundry over

Need to do today

  • fix front sprinkler
  • cut pine tree by gate
  • finish laundry (hang up back of door clothes)
  • dishes
    - clean off bathroom counter
  • cut my hair
  • make dinner

I think that's it? I will add to it if needed, because I still feel disorganized.

In other news, I wrote the first scene for the next season of my scifi anthology show, and I am very excited about the episode. It isn't going to be very Western, and honestly not even very Space, but it's fun, and I want to write it, so I am.

Now I think I am going to work on Identity for a while. I need to write an Arcadia ep, and a sentai show ep, but they aren't hugely over my head or due soon, so I'm doing ok.

Also, I finished most of my lists yesterday. So go me.

Brain feels really weird and I don't know why.

I /think/ I haven't eaten enough today and may not have been eating enough for the past few days? I'm struggling to tell. I keep losing track and I'm wondering if I should start documenting that kind of stuff when I'm having weird brain? That's just likely to lead toward trouble.

I've just been feeling unwell physically which makes me unlikely to eat properly.

Need to sort out what my body is willing to put in it lately.

I still have PMDD. I haven’t had an actual cycle in like 2.5 years, and have been testosterone dominant for coming up on 3, but I still get the mood crash on a cyclic, predictable schedule.

This should not be the case.

I have talked to my endo, and gotten a second opinion and they both say my hormones are fine, but I still have it.

Today’s mood crash was probably this. Still brain-weird. Also exhausted.

Bed early.

But.

Today I contacted my hand surgeon about the ongoing problems and made an appointment, reached out to the mental health part of my insurance to try to get a referral to a therapist, called in med renewals, got all my work-work and most of my house-work down, and cooked/ate dinner.

Oh, another side effect of the hormone cycle is that my adhd meds don’t work as well during PMDD-time, which is deeply frustrating, combined with the depression.

Now, sleep.

My sleep is still weird. Exhausted, so I go to bed early, dreams wake me up, and it’s hard to go back to sleep, so I’m exhausted again.

Today was a “my dog is in peril” dream followed by “our car broke down by the cannibal homestead” which sounds silly but was upsetting in context.

Ok. Making an attempt for more sleep.

Ok, self. You just need to get through a couple more PMDD days, and then the world will stop feeling so impossible.

Even the bad stuff will be easier to deal with.

A couple more days.
