Today I spent office time messing around with RPGMaker, just doing whatever to familiarise myself with it some. My next step I think will be to read some tutorials on how to use custom images/sprites/etc in it -- I gather it has a very robust system for all of that, if you know how to use it, but consequently it's super confusing and hard to just, jump in to and get what you want out of it. So, read things written by people who actually know how to use it.

Re: Promiseland
Oh man! On a random whim I did a search for a couple of games from my childhood -- like, the games from my childhood, which for years I couldn't find any trace of them on the internet, no one seemed to know they existed, and then a couple years ago a promotional flier for one of them surfaced but there didn't seem to be anything else
But today I hit the jackpot! Seems archivists have gotten around to them and I was able to download copies of both of them! And they work! I might go and download the other games in the series just to check them out, though by all accounts none of these are good games and they might not be worth it without the specific nostalgia. God it's nice to hear the theme tune again though, and it's a weight off my shoulders knowing that they've been archived. I'd been worried that if I didn't do it myself, no one would, and I haven't had the wherewithal to figure that out
Anyway, I am delighted, and going to mess around with these for a few more minutes before I get ready for bed

Oh man2! Some people got together and translated the Disco Elysium book, apparently at a professional level? Very excited! I'll have to read that when I have less to-read on my plate, but I'm so happy people did that

Alright, got my room "good enough" -- I want to do more on it, but it's fine if that doesn't happen -- and stripped a good chunk of the wood we've had laying around of pine needles. I also downloaded a bunch of games onto the deck that looked interesting and made sure they all at least run well enough to get to the opening menu, so I have options when we're away from the internet. I want to throw some SNES games on there, too, for some variety, but that'll wait until tomorrow
Tomorrow: more room cleaning, more wood stripping, ideally recording. Start packing. Friday: finish packing, shower, go camping! I will be AFK from then until we get back Monday, of course
I'm going to go make some bread things to finish eating my dinner (tikka masala) with and then go to bed early, so I can be awake and productive tomorrow

Honestly super okay with antivaxxers thinking vaccinated people shed poison that will infect and kill them. Good! Stay the fuck away from me!
Maybe they could stay home and isolate themselves from vaccinated people.

Re: Promiseland
Today my ankle hurts when I walk on it, which is a problem because I kind of need to be able to do that to get the rest of the things I need to get done, done. Can't, like, pack from my bed, you know. I've taken a couple advil and I'm being gentle with it right now, so hopefully by this evening it stops being an issue. But I had to skip out on my morning walk around the pool, which is a bummer, and might be why I feel so braindead right now. There is, nothing happening up here.
Ideally I will do the looking at image tutorials thing but unless my brain comes online I don't think that'll be happening. This might end up being a day I just sit in bed for a few hours and stare at a screen with youtube on it.
