I used to ghide these but now I don't care: one time I said "miss me with that shit" in a convo with Ky and she acted like what I said made no sense, at all, ever, and additionally that it was the stupidest thing she ever heard, and even when I explained the slang she acted like my words together literally made no sense and it was so fucking frustrating

Weekend! The end of it approaches, RIP, and I'm slightly dreading next week because I have two entire VA appointments and then next weekend I drive to Milwaukee to do a thing with Sophie and her RP group. (To be clear, I'm not dreading that last part, I just have some general "agh I have to Do Thing" anxiety about it.) Otherwise it's been a good weekend, though; I'm glad I took the extra day because I feel pretty rested. I have the beginnings of "I should've been more productive" emerging but, again, @brain, productive how???? doing what????? if you're gonna make me feel shitty at least be SPECIFIC

I am working on story notes right now and while they're not finished, I did make progress. When I say "working on story notes," I mean specifically I am trying to map out the remaining plot beats to the end of my novel, and for some reason it is a fucking struggle. Even just literally looking at the document and focusing on the task is like pulling teeth. I've considered if I need to go about it a different way, but I'm not really sure how I would do that? There's only so many ways to document intention. I dunno! Regardless, I'm gonna force myself to work on it a little longer and then get a few things ready for tomorrow. I'm not feeling super social so I think I'll just take Baby Dog out for her walk and mind my business.

I deffo have some melancholy setting in, I think mostly due to aforementioned feelings of not wanting to start the next week, but nothing a good night's sleep won't shed

It is entirely too cold outside!

It's so cold that this morning Baby Dog refused to go potty, and while I didn't blame her, I did have to head back out a few minutes ago for Round 2 because I would prefer not to clean dog poop off my ruggable. She finally went, although immediately after sprinted back inside, so I will probably give her lunch in one of her puzzles and maybe leave her w/ a Kong or something to keep her from getting fidgety. At her age she doesn't require a whole lot of exercise, but I know I get bitchy without being able to stretch my legs and brain enough, so I'll spend some extra time with her until it warms back up a bit.

I did also finally get the hang of her new booties! I only bring out booties when we're getting into single digit temps or lower, because otherwise she seems okay, but when it's that cold outside her paws genuinely hurt (she'll hold them up one at a time or limp to favor one) and when it's THIS cold outside, she could get frostbite on her lil peets. In previous years I've used disposable ones that look kinda like balloons, and they worked but they're annoying to put on and they get extremely gross after only one or two uses. This year I bought actual dog booties that strap onto her legs and it's taken me a few tries to get them on tightly enough that she doesn't just kick them off.

If I weren't deliberately trying to build up a bank of sick time towards a specific end then I would absolutely call off today tbh, it's too fucking cold to do anything productive, let alone to drive downtown and investigate death for eight hours

Sitting for a bit after work because it was kind of a long day, but!

This morning I made another dentist appointment, this time w/ my insurance verified on both ends (so confirmed with the office and with my provider), so I get to go to the iopsggifoog dfio TINNITUS AHHHHH

all I can hear out of my right ear is "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

okay I tensed my entire body and smacked the side of my head and we seem to be back to normal

-- and then after that I cleaned up the apartment, left early for work so I could put air in all the tires and get gas, and in general did so much adulting, y'all! I was really committed to trying to knock some of this stuff out for 2024, so it feels good to follow through.

ok lemme sit for a minute longer then go to bed cuz I have a VA headshrinker appointment early tomorrow (telehealth, thankfully, so I just have to get up early enough to take Baby out to potty and make sure I don't look like a complete hobo) and then tbh next painful step is to figure out creativity goals/get my writing back on track but for now, bed warm
