Re: Promiseland
Last night I ran the first chapter of Something About a House through a translation service 50 times
Also last night, ash and I started watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, but it turned out to be two and a half hours long so we got two hours into it and finished it tonight. It's interesting! I remembered very little of it from seeing it as a kid, and it occupies the same space in my mind as Babes in Toyland, so I'm never sure what I remember is from that and what is from the other. It could definitely do with some cutting down, and I'm not sure it deserves to be called 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' when the titular car is in it for maybe half an hour at the most, but it was fun and I loved Caractacus and Truly (Dick Van Dyke and Sally Ann Howes). Apparently it was not a great film to work on due to the director being A Asshole, but it feels like it was fun to make, and a lot of the actors have such fun, clownish body language
We also played five or six rounds of crazy eights while sitting in front of a fire, and then after dinner we also played a bit more of Deadly Premonition. That is one of two games that I have been completely unable to get working on the steam deck, which makes me very sad and I hope some crazy person comes out with a patch for it at some point
I need to prepare another week of meals for Oz, but I might give that another day before doing it.

Today it is Cael who woke me up too early, but Oz was not far behind
Everyone's eaten now though so it's back to bed with us

Re: Promiseland
Just prepared almost two weeks of meals for Oz, out of one rabbit. I also accidentally woke up the rest of the house by chopping through bones, I'll have to keep that in mind in future and do prep during the day instead of at night. That work has also been hurting my wrists a lot when I've had to do it, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that. Also I let the rabbit thaw too much so it was a slippery nightmare to cut
Oz is currently chewing absolutely every edible part she can off of a chicken leg. She's a very hungry baby tonight and has eaten almost everything on her plate, including the whole kidney from out of the rabbit, and most of the portion of liver. She got a little too enthusiastic about that last one and dropped part of it off the side of the cat tree, and I put it back on her plate but I don't think she's eaten that bit
Recording tomorrow, and the day after will be my first day of class. My mouth still hurts, and is in the 'getting worse' stage of the whole process, so hopefully it's not too much of an issue
Bed soon, gonna watch some youtube and then do that

Re: Promiseland
Class over! It went alright, professor seems decent. I find a lot of professors come across as Super Hard Ass in their syllabus and then are more reasonable in the actual class. Unfortunately we're all starting with learning the kanas, but I'm sure we'll get through that fast
The class has started a discord to hang out in and ask study questions, of course right now it's very active but I'm also sure that'll die down soon
I have homework of making flashcards for the hiragana and uploading a picture of that to canvas, and next class is monday. Right now I'm going to wait for the pool guy to be done with the pool and then I've got a couple chores to do (that will involve walking by the pool, hence)

Re: Promiseland
And homework done. Very much feels like busywork, especially since we're being actively encouraged to just use apps to learn the kanas, but I figure it's a combination of some students doing a 'well, I have them now I may as well use them and actually learn what I'm supposed to' and a 'everyone test how good you are at following the directions for uploading the homework files'.
The calendar has also been fixed and I'm no longer missing an assignment from before the semester started. I did do my chores earlier, and then when ash got home we watched Taskmaster and Language Simp and then a couple of Um Actuallys. Having gotten my homework done the day it was assigned instead of putting it off until the last minute, I now have nothing to worry about for that class until monday. Doing homework immediately is going to be my goal for the class generally, but we'll see how long that lasts.
Going to eat more food, play some video games, chill out until bedtime.

Hmm, Oz's dinner for tonight seems to have gone bad, but it shouldn't have had time to do so. I'll have to keep an eye on things, see if it happens again
