This observation was sponsored by the following:
1) cleaned out my fridge to throw away expired things, found a mystery jar of sugar free marmalade that was close to expiry date
2) decided I didn't want to be wasteful and put it in the oatmeal I took to work with me for dinner
3) heated up my oatmeal, took one bite, and threw the entire thing away
I have genuinely no memory of how I acquired the jar of sugar free marmalade, my best guess is I impulse bought it at the grocery while craving marmalade and figured sugar free would be fine (since I often buy low sugar jellies/jams just because the ones made with corn syrup or lots of extra sugar are often too sweet for my taste).
IT WAS NOT FINE
It was somehow sour???? It was so sour I even double-checked the expiry date when I got home (before throwing it away regardless) and, no, it's just gross. I don't tend to mind sugar free/low sugar stuff, and obviously it's a good option to have for people with dietary restrictions, but boy did it turn tasty marmalade into an abomination
anyways yesterday was chaos at work, I got frustrating health/health insurance stuff going on, I am brain-exhausted from two days of masonry work outside my window, and I am very likely going to call off work and become a hermit
