As an update to my WorldAnvil opinion I am dropping it slightly because the "hey you haven't logged in for a while!" emails it sends are frankly unhinged

Uhhhhhhhh.

Good to know!

And speaking of businesses making decisions that actively offput me from ever using their thing again, I recently got a 14-day free trial of Crunchyroll and used it to watch Mobile Suit Gundam in-between cases at work. I set a reminder to cancel it before they bill me, because I do not watch anime regularly enough to merit a monthly payment, and last night at work I logged into the app to cancel said subscription.

and uhhh you literally, can't

I even Googled "how to cancel crunchyroll subscription" because after looking all through the app all I could find was this screen going "you're subscribed!!! good job bestie :)" and, yeah, you literally cannot do it through the app, at least not on my phone's OS.

This is the exact same screen but on browser:

Which is, yeah, the information I want. Anyways I went ahead and cancelled it even though I have a week left because, ew

I should also note I did try to log into the crunchyroll browser with my phone, just like using Google Chrome, and it forced a mobile layout that did not have the correct information for me to cancel so they can eat my ass

Tuesday equivalent!

Had a rough start to the week, just because yesterday I was kinda exhausted and depressy about, like -- unfortunately it's all of the usual horrors you can't escape in a capitalist hell-society, but lately I've been feeling simultaneously overstimulated by things I'm forced to engage with but don't want to, and understimulated by things I want to engage with but am unable to.

For instance, I've been having to fight being extremely crabby at work, because I'm frankly so fucking tired of talking to my coworkers. I know this is a Me Problem, which is why I've been correcting myself from having an unnecessary stank attitude about it, but even going in yesterday I was pre-emptively exhausted by "how was your weekend" or "guess what happened the other day at work" or "let me tell you what [drunkard coworker] did" or I don't even know what. I see these people so goddamn much and I am out of things to say to them and I don't want them to know things about me and I just want them to be quiet and sit at their desks. I'm so socially exhausted by my coworkers never ceasing that on my weekend I resent the fact that at least one day out of my only two days off, I'm too socially burnt out to hang out with my friends, even though I very badly want to know what's going on in their lives and to do stuff with them. I'm trying to create, but it's hard to find the time, and while I can squeeze some stuff in-between cases at work, it continues to be hard because it's so loud. It's definitely better in our new office space because at least I am not genuinely triggered by the physical proximity of loud people (and Clingy Coworker finally did learn to fuck off, I cannot over-emphasize how she would just ......... sit on my desk???? and lean over me??? I thought she was flirting with me, it was so bad, but I think she's just Like That and this field seems to attract people with what I consider to be bizarre social boundaries), but I'm still spending so many spell slots at work just trying to exist politely.

I'm just so tired

I think switching to morning shift will really help, because at least then I can cram work into the first part of the day and be done with it, and I will also be going to a shift with a different assortment of people who I think will want to generally chat and yell less. I know I'm behaving in a way that's considered anti-social, or whatever, but I honestly just want to go to work, politely nod, do my job (which I love! I really enjoy my job and I think I'm good at it!), and then leave.

anyway, I feel a little more optimistic today I guess, and also I need to get up and do some chores, so let me do that

I wish Loud did not make me crazy but like, this is the brain I've got and I don't think it's unreasonable to want my coworkers who I see a minimum of 40 hrs/wk to occasionally shut the fuck up

I did actually take part of my lunch break* yesterday to go on a short stroll around the nearby park, which was nice, so I may try to start regularly doing that or otherwise spending some time not being in the presence of so many people.

*I work an 8 hr shift with a 1 hr paid lunch break and essentially never take the 1 hr to actually break, which I know is bad and I would absolutely scold another person for doing the thing I'm doing, but in my work environment it's seen as a little unnecessary or even precious to actually leave for a lunch break and also sometimes humans are hypocrites

anyways I'm gonna try to be better about it

it must be fashionable for teens to grow out their hair kinda 70sish because I passed a bunch of teenage boys at a track meet and they all looked approximately like this

Mental health day!

As I mentioned a few posts back I've been a little out of sorts this week and finally today ended up calling off to get my head on straight, because I think it was either that or bite one of my coworkers with my teeth. I got groceries and then promptly passed the fuck out for two hours (!) before getting up and working out. I'm sitting down now to poke at bungame a bit and then I think I'll couchflop and play some more Grounded, which I've been getting into lately.

I'm glad I took the day and I feel a lot better, I just wish I hadn't needed it.
