Today I learned earwigs are surprisingly good swimmers, because one was swimming around in Oz's water bowl. I tried to save it, unsure if I succeeded

 
I have had the kind of migraine that sends intense stabbing pains through my head every time it changes altitude, plus loose joints that keep hyperextending/trying to dislocate, so I have spent the majority of the day in bed and moving as little as possible. I've also been spending it playing video games. Head is a bit better, now, hopefully it's fine tomorrow

 
I forgot (and then remembered, and then forgot, and then remembered, and then forgot) to mention that I did get a response from the store I hadn't heard from about the order I never got confirmation for, a couple days ago. I was just about to try emailing them again when I got it. Seems instead of shipping out one order and then sending me the backordered order when it was available they just waited and shipped it all at once? Which is annoying, since I'm pretty sure that means I paid for shipping twice for no reason, but hopefully it'll all be here soon. I have a tracking number now, at any rate. Also annoyed that I don't have any receipts on what I ordered, and have now forgotten and won't have an easy way to make sure I did in fact get everything I bought. I don't want to be too hard on them, since it is a small, independently run, marginalized-identity-focused store, but also this is not a shopping experience I can exactly recommend, you know.

Didn't feel particularly better today, so it was another day doing as little moving as possible, reading and playing video games. I don't think it was originally caused by the heat but I think the heat exacerbated it, and that my electrolytes are now out of whack. I don't have a very good way of dealing with that right now, though, so I just ate part of a packet of salt. If I'm still feeling like this tomorrow I'll see about a better option, but I'm honestly probably going to just feel crappy all week, with the forecasted triple-digits going forward. But I can at least get more salt &c in my system

I am veering into unwarranted advice territory but I mean this more as A Neat Fact that is Possibly Also Helpful but when I worked at Parks & Rec our maintenance guys (who often worked outdoors in NC heat/humidity all day) would keep Pedialyte on hand and drink it in their water! I thought that was interesting because I always considered Pedialyte to be For Babies but grown men use it all the time to make sure they don't get all fuckered up by the heat.

Regardless I hope you feel better or at least can survive the week!
