Disruptive student asking why he needs to know what kind of verb a word (ru, u, irregular) is so long as he knows the correct conjugation

Dude went to the bathroom half an hour into class and just came back with half an hour to go

Almost immediately called on and got it wrong because he didn't know what we were doing

Alright, little bit of a rough day, starting with getting set up for class half an hour before it starts and discovering that that hours-long update a couple nights ago broke zoom! So I had to spend that half hour trying to figure out a way to get things working so I could attend class -- the solution seems to be to, uh, launch zoom, and then kill the process, and then relaunch it, and for some reason it'll work then? Thankfully I didn't need to try to get the website version working because that was being a real pain in the ass while I was trying.

Class went alright, in part because disruptive student was missing for most of it, but also we just went over how to describe people and how to conjugate adjectives into te forms, both of which are pretty easy. I managed to keep ahead of everything enough to have answers ready when called on, but aside from that I was a bit out of it due to the disabilities.

After class I emptied one of the litterboxes and took that bag out to be thrown away, and then fought the steam deck and TV to try to get them to work together today -- sometimes it just doesn't, for no apparent reason, and I have no idea why or how to get it to start working again! Today it started working after I completely unplugged the dock for the second time and then plugged it all back in. It's very frustrating.

I've also been having some controller issues that became a problem after the controller ran out of battery and couldn't be wireless anymore -- the cable or the controller port have gotten less and less responsive over time and now they basically don't work at all. I need to dig up a different cable to try, but I also need a different controller to use out in the living room anyway (I have a PS3 controller out there that was working fine for a while but has some incredibly frustrating issues that I ultimately decided I just didn't want to deal with, so now I've been bringing my PS4 controller out there from my room to use).

Anyway, ash and I played some more 999 -- we're at the third room, and then when we're done with that the True Ending will kick off. At some point in the middle we discovered that I hadn't done the intro/outro for the Arcadia that's getting released tomorrow so I had to break off to knock that out real quick before we continued.

Tomorrow we're going to try to go to a Daiso on a date, just go window shop a bit and wander around a store. We used to do that at Tuesday Morning but those closed a few years ago, I think the Daiso will hit the same sort of vibe. There are three Daisos in the area, which one we go to will depend on the weather and whether or not ash feels like driving or taking the train -- there are bigger ones half an hour away to the north and south, and then the one I went to which is small but a five minute walk from a light rail station.

And then I'll also have homework to do -- a couple workbook pages going over the same 'describe people' 'conjugate adjectives into te forms', plus a kanji practice page but just the one practising stroke order, not the one making you actually use the kanji in sentences and stuff. Shouldn't take too terribly long.

Tonight I'm gonna go to bed early, I think, I could use the rest.

So dad's trial was supposed to be on the 17th, and he didn't contact me at all so I was dreading reaching out because, like, what if he doesn't reply because he's in fucking prison?

Well, I did and his trial has now been moved to October 22nd. No news is good news, I guess?

Did in fact go to Daiso with ash! We drove to one of the further away but bigger ones, and got stuck in traffic both to and from, which was a bummer but it's whatever. Traffic has gotten so bad in the city and it would be really nice if they could do something about it that wasn't adding more lanes to more freeways. The Daiso was fun though! We wandered around lookin' at stuff, I got some pictures of some engrish, and bought a couple of cat toys and a couple of snacks. This time I got takoyaki chips, which do not taste fishy or like octopus at all but do taste interesting. Cheesy, herby, a little mayonaissey, I wasn't sure if I liked them at first but they grew on me. I also got a green tea wheat bun, which was alright. The prices remain extremely reasonable and I'm definitely going to keep going there for snacks -- though, the one closer by, of course.

When we got back, we hung out while ash made dinner (french toast and bacon) and then ate dinner while watching the new Taskmaster, and then we 999'd until bedtime. We are into the final ending! We're past everything that shows up in any of the other endings or playthroughs!! It's all new shit from here!!!

Then I sat down to do homework, which I just finished a few minutes ago. Luckily it was easy homework, because I am exhausted, just, like, physically. I started off doing the kanjis but then I ran out of spoons and was worried that if I forced myself to keep going I'd run out of time to submit. So most of it is kana only.

This weekend I want to get study materials together and really hit 'em, I am struggling more than I'd like to be and need to cement this stuff. I don't know what it is about this class but the pace is just vroom. I'd also really, really love for the classes to be spaced out more than just one day between them, and man I'd love if the professor gave us more than a day to do the homework, but it all is what it is.

But tonight's going to be another early one, just gonna be horizontal for a while and then unconscious.

Alright! I have moved my dresser over to the wall by the door and moved the library table in to the end of my bed, and also moved a bunch of stuff that was in the way of doing those things to all over my room, so those'll need to get cleaned up but it was mostly stuff that needed to get put away into proper places anyway, so.

I was worried that I wouldn't like how narrow the dresser makes my entryway but I think I don't mind it, and I definitely like how much more open the room feels with the library table in the middle of it instead of the dresser.

But now I'm exhausted and my back is killing me, so I'm going to be sedentary for a bit.

I have also taken all the dirty dishes out of my room and attempted a fix on my computer's power cable (it's been splitting open near the bit that plugs into the computer, so I've wrapped it a bunch with electrical tape, which will hopefully keep it whole, give it some stability, and not start any fires)

Played some Virtue's Last Reward (999 2) while ash did some creative stuff, then hung out while he made dinner, and then we watched a couple Steven Universes (including the Empire City one with 'It's Over, Isn't It' which is just, one of my favourite songs) and then we continued into 999's true ending. We got through the library, and we've just finished the study, so I think we've got just one interactive room left to go (if we can call it that).

My homework got graded earlier and for once no corrections on it! No stupid mistakes!

Tonight I need to at least clear off everything I piled onto my bed while doing the furniture rearranging, I don't think I'll attempt any more than that. There is the inspection on Wednesday, so I do need to be focusing on getting ready for that in the coming days, though.
