Re: Promiseland
So partway through Tuesday's class, the teacher told Disruptive Student that she wanted to speak with him after class, clearly as a followup to what everyone was telling her after class last week, not in response to anything he was specifically doing at the time. He was in class again, today, so he wasn't made to drop it or anything -- he did use the chat to ask what page we were on, someone1 responded and he said 'thx bro', so a real step up from telling people to 'kiss it'. He did interrupt the class a couple times for his Japanese trivia and continues to struggle to follow along and actually answer the teacher's questions, but aside from that didn't get up to anything. On Tuesday he didn't use the chat at all
For class we went over using past-tense short forms for "I think that..." and "So-and-so said that..." constructions, and reforming "situation/reason" constructions into a single sentence (we learned eg "The test was hard. It's because I didn't study", today we learned eg "I didn't study, so the test was hard"). Three pages of homework tonight -- one of them is another interview page, I'm going to see if I can rope Dave into helping me with it since I've already used Erika and ash for others -- and a vocabulary quiz. I've also got a date with Sor in the early evening to watch Beetlejuice (the first one), and then there'll also be a Taskmaster and a Gastronauts to watch with ash.
It's getting to be time to break out the SAD lamps, I think. Not quite yet time to break out the heaters or electric blanket
1The person who took charge in talking to the teacher about Disruptive Student's behaviour, actually! But Disruptive Student wouldn't know about that, I don't think this student has ever been involved in any of the previous conversations with him

Re: Promiseland
Oh I finished the first dothack a couple days ago! For the first time since it came out, so I've been playing it off-and-on for 21 years. More off than on, obviously.
So I started up the second, and this'll be the first time I play that. It's going okay so far, I'm a little below the level the game expects me to be, so I got thrown by the sudden spike in difficulty when I fired it up, but I'm grinding and I'll get there again. As before, the story is a little eh but the mechanics and premise and everything are good. I'm enjoying myself

Also the backup download finished yesterday; I need to get a few straggling files off their servers (and/or confirm I don't actually care about them) and then I can cancel that subscription

今日は、午前八時半に起きました、次トイレに行って、また寝ました。午後一時ぐらいまた起きました。朝ご飯を食べて、インターネットを読みました。クラスがありましたから、勉強しました。次クラスに行きました。やすかったです。
晩ご飯はピザがありました。アシュと食べて、ユーチューブを見ました。Drawfeeを見ました。次Make Some Noiseを見ました。午後九時ぐらい僕の部屋にビデオゲームをして、インターネットを読むに行きました。すぐ寝ます。疲れたよ。
Today, I woke up at 8:30 AM, then went to the bathroom, and went back to sleep. I woke up again at about one PM. I ate breakfast and read the internet. I had class, so I studied. Then I went to class. It was easy.
Dinner was pizza. I ate with ash and we watched youtube. We watched Drawfee. Then watched Make Some Noise. At about 9 PM I went to my room to play video games and read the internet. Soon I'm going to sleep. I'm tired!

Re: Promiseland
単語試験は終わりましたよ!Done with the vocabulary quiz! 24/25, but I used a kanji where she might not have been expecting it so that might change. I think she wants us to be using kanji we've learned in class -- so when I put 出る instead of でる, I think that got marked right, but I couldn't remember if we've done 気, and I don't think we have, so when I put 人気がある instead of にんきがある I think that got marked wrong. But if I spelled it right I'm sure she'll mark it right by hand. Everything else I did in kana because I don't think we've learned any of those kanji and I seem to be right.
I did successfully rope Dave into being my interviewee, so I've sent him the questions and now I just wait for him to get them back to me. I won't have time to write everything down until this evening anyway, but I have typed out all the answers for the other pages due, I think. I want to double-check my work on those to make sure I got things right but I think I did?
I also went out and watered my patio plants and took a walk around the pool. I'm going to get ready for date with Sor, now, and probably decompress a little bit before we get started. またね!

Re: Promiseland
So some of the questions on the midterm were like, "write this hiragana word in kanji", like "write this word in kanji: はいる", and I'm genuinely baffled at what the teacher could possibly be expecting us to do, there. Because as far as I know every possible way to get kanji into that text box just involves writing the hiragana and changing it to kanji. With my input system I type out はーいーる and press space and it turns into 入る. I could try to search for the 入 kanji and copy-paste it in but I would do that by typing out はーいーる into a search bar. I cannot think of any way to get the kanji onto my computer that doesn't involve just knowing how to spell out the kanji.
I'm sure if we were having an in-person test she would have us write it by hand, in pencil, but. I don't know what she's expecting here.

Re: Promiseland
It should have been "write out the kanji for 'enter'", "write out the kanji for 'north'", etc.
