There's a bush outside my room that makes noises when you walk past it and I've been dying to know what manner of beast or creature is living inside it

Well! Today I saw a lizard!!

I couldn't get my camera out in time to get a good picture but here it is moments before jumping into the aforementioned bush. Maybe I'll see it again!

In slightly more upsetting backyard news, while I was watering today a squirrel fell out of a tree and nearly landed on me. Would not like to repeat that one, nor the alternative of it succeeding

Earlier I got a call from the physical therapist and was informed that he caught COVID on his trip to Chicago and that my referral expires Thursday next week, so we had to reschedule my appointment to Wednesday next week and also very abruptly that's become my last appointment with him

I am bummed! I'd hoped for a few more appointments and it's :/ to suddenly be at the last one without ever having gone through the stages of 'almost last one' and 'next to last one'.

And I guess my foot is about as functional as it's going to get, which is mostly. I do have a couple of things to keep working on but I think we're close to diminishing returns. This is also a bit of a bummer, but at least an expected one.

 
Body has been having issues, lately. Hand hurts, feels like something dislocated. Been having mouth problems that have made things like 'eating' and 'talking' painful or uncomfortable. Been tired and not getting enough sleep, and been hurting my neck or back in my sleep. And of course the arm hurts from the COVID shot. Bein' thirty-five, it's a party.

Need to get over to dad's tomorrow, and ideally clean the counters when I get back home. Potentially try to check out the UU choir meeting, but I predict a no on that one this week. I'm a little bit [hand motions] because a month ago Lee and I scheduled a date on this coming Sunday, which I'd forgotten about so made plans with the UU stuff in mind, and now have to change those plans to the original plans of the date -- which I do not at all mind, I am happy to go on the date and obviously we couldn't have known I was going to spontaneously start going to church in a month when we'd scheduled it, but I just feel weird about showing up to a meeting, telling people I'll be there next week, and then having to no-show my second meeting. I might be able to join the zoom call instead, but I think I'll have to leave it early if I do.

But date! Fun! We're taking a tour of the old-old city under the old city and learning about how they raised it and stuff. It'll be nice and I'm looking forward to it.

Now rest. Maybe sleep early.

-Some poor people pushing their car through the intersection
-A Pacific Union truck with special railroad track attachments driving down the railroad tracks (distinct from the light rail tracks)
-A couple people standing in the middle of the street to watch a truck doing something

I don't have the energy to recount the whole thing, but I did go over to dad's today and stuff has been moved around and things are likely missing

Intentionally took today down to recover from the rest of the week -- between UU, store, shot, and dad's, it's been a busy one. So I slept most of the day and then just sort of hung out. I did have been trying to get the old clock working, though. It's got a habit of stopping in the middle of the night and I'm not sure why -- if I still can't get it to keep running then I'll have to take it in to the clock repair guy, who I saw before for a different old clock I was trying to get running and who was super nice and didn't charge me to look at it because it turned out to not have any issues after all.

Anyway.

Tomorrow I need to shower & shave, and I want to get some cleanup done. Saturday is a river litter-pickup event and I want to go to it, but it's a larger gathering than those normally are and I don't know how crowded it'll be, and while the usual events are only ~an hour long, this one is three hours and I don't know if I'll be judged for bowing out early. I definitely won't have three hours of picking up litter in me. So I will probably skip it but if I decide to be socially brave then I'll be waking up early and getting a ride from Lee. Then Sunday I'll be trying to attend the UU sermon via zoom, then going to old town with Lee and doing the undercity tour. That evening is a Mabon gathering and potluck and I really want to go to that if I have energy after the tour, and if I do that I should have done made cookies Saturday night to bring with me. So I will maybe hopefully do that.

I ordered more litter from Chewy earlier and I hate them a little bit more every time i have to interact with their website now. At least I did this one sooner than I normally would because they sent me a coupon for their fuckups last time, but because I had to wait to remove my payment method from their site that time, I forgot to do it, which means my order just used that same payment method without asking me which is, such bad design why do they do this I hate it so much. Just ask me which saved payment method I want to use! Ask me if I want to use a saved payment method at all! Fucking ask me if I want to save my payment method in the first place!

Anyway, this time I waited until I got the message saying my order has shipped before deleting my payment method -- which was its own Whole Thing because if you try to delete your payment method without thinking to scroll down and check off google's capcha box that's next to the 'save information' button then it'll just ignore you and not do anything, super fucking intuitive. But it's done and next time I buy from them it'll ask me for my information instead of just charging whatever I used last time, which in this case I think was my bank card and might mean I need to go put cash in my account. I can't figure that out right now though because today my bank won't let me log into their website, the internet was a mistake.

We will see if my order actually ships or if they cancel it on me for some reason again.

 
Oz's activity levels have been a little low, lately, so I've started making her do tricks when I give her her pills, and I think it's been helping. I just make her stand up and balance on her back legs a few times for little pieces of the wet food before I give her the whole blob with the pill in it. She has been a little more active since I started but that might be the extra exercise or it might be the weather cooling off. She's also been spending more time sleeping right next to me, which is nice! I need to clear space for more of her stuff in here, set up her puzzle tables again and give her real room to play with her toys.

Speaking of giving her pills, though, I'm going to go do that and then go to bed. Slán!
