You know the fish? I show it a tree. It wants to climb the tree but it doesn't have hands. It tries, it dies.

Example with an intransitive verb:
irisetne vhan kuu taisaln

I swam in the water

With a transitive verb:

This tree is usually the same as that tree

With clausal verbs:

Today was game night with the lads! I woke up at a decent hour and spent most of the day watching youtube and doing some conlanging work, and then at 5, Erika, Dave and I hopped into Gone Fishing to do some more spooky fishing. We tried a higher difficulty and a different level, and had a good time! The higher difficulty I expected to make spooks/monsters happen more often but it didn't seem to, maybe it only affects quota amounts. I do think the devs haven't added a huge amount of spooky stuff yet, I haven't looked at the devlogs in a bit but last I did they were pretty focused on adjusting fishing and cooking mechanics. They do have adjusted the actual fishing minigame and in some ways it's better than it was and in others it still needs more work. The different level we did was the swamp, where we all got eaten by an alligator at least once and Erika got stalked by a Perfectly Normal Dog

There's still the Jungle level to try out, and I imagine the dev is going to continue adding stuff to the game, so I'm sure we'll play again in future, but I also brought up Peak and there was some interest in playing that together

After game night I hung out with ash while dinner cooked, read him a little bit of Obelisk Gate, and we watched the second and third (and currently final) Langhari Portals episodes. It's a very good series, the creator is crazy talented, premise is there's a sort of interdimensional travel agency and one of their employees starts having weird time-travel-related stuff happen to them, so they end up having to travel to different dimensions to get help with that. While in those dimensions the character gives a rundown of the local culture and language, which are fully-fledged conlangs with all kinds of neat features. Great stuff, I'm looking forward to the next episode

There was a Taskmaster "Taskmastermind" thing that we watched, and then ash went to bed. Earlier today I made biscuits-from-a-tube in the wafflemaker and still had a bunch by the time dinner was made, and dinner was pork cutlets (delicious) which means I have a bowl of applesauce to go with it (ash thinks this is weird but I've always had applesauce with pork), and so I'm dunking my biscuit wedges into the applesauce and that is also delicious. A good food night

I'm still feeling language-y so I'm going to try to find something relevant to watch on youtube

I don’t think pork and apple sauce is weird! it’s very traditional. I just don’t really like it, and it’s a staple pairing for you.

I was never a big fan of Louis CK even before it turned out he was an awful person but I do think 'Can you give it a minute? To get back from space??' every time it takes a couple minutes to get a verification code email

Many thoughts about the present perfect continuous tense

Alright, in Teket you add the adposition "on" (in Teket: -vhir) to tense words to indicate that something is continuous or ongoing. Could be translated as "I'm at the doing of it"

past+on = I had been doing (the action was being done during the referenced time but is now finished)
present+on = I have been doing (the action was being done during the referenced time and is ongoing)
future+on = I will have been doing (the action will be occurring during the referenced time but has not yet begun)

sit.INAN DEF.PRES-on 1SG OBJ.table
iusik sulvhir kuu tamare hia
I've been sitting on the table

swim.HUN DEF.IMM.PAST-on 1SG
iriset vhanvhir kuu
I was swimming
