These have been interesting and I've been enjoying reading them!

I had never heard of rumspringa!

That makes sense, although a lot of the cultures in my storyworld are pretty insular so probably would not have those types of traditions, generally.

(caveat: I do not know many words-for-types-of-government and will not be looking them up, so there is a 100% chance I describe something that already has a snappy name)

House Hierophant operates as kind of a dictatorship? There are several families, with each appointing a head of household for representation. They have decision-making and logistical meetings and maybe even some voting power but all are pretty firmly under the thumb of the Delarose family, whose bloodline carries the only ability to actually enter and leave the Villa. Without a Delarose to guide you, you would just become lost in the Hedge forever.

House Drell worships the portent of death that is The Drell, or the Drellhound, and their leaders represent different parts of its body. They do not believe the Drell guides them or speaks to them directly, or divinely chooses them, but do want to represent its parts and ideals and do so religiously.

House Saturnine has a monarchy and believes in their Queen, but that's all I've figured out for them until I write a story they're in more.

House Tally, no idea. They exist for the specific purpose of ruling Oracle (massive auction house/marketplace) and I don't yet care how they do so. Probably they're bankers with extra steps.

San Overdell functions more bureaucratically and has the Offices Under the Triumvirate, where three major corporations make political decisions.

I actually don't have a lot of opinions about alliances yet, although House Hierophant's aggressive and pompous neutrality is starting to change due to issues with their bloodline dwindling. Oh and I'm reworking what used to be the Serians but haven't made specific decisions yet -- they still exist but just need a different name, since 'Serian' is a real-life place and also sounds quite close to 'Syrian' so I'm just not happy with it. Anyways, they are an occupied peoples and a lot are displaced by a several-years conflict with San Overdell, whose efforts were financed specifically by House Tally, so there's a lot of bad blood there. A lot of them got absorbed into House Drell, in any case.

(fun fact: the former-Serians are inspired in part by Chicago Poles and House Drell are inspired in part by Gorals/Polish highlanders)

alas I have no interest in actually properly learning the thing so I'll have to figure some halfway point out

but I'm gonna be so real I don't know what hardly any of those words mean (orthography??? like for birds??? /joking) so while I don't mind help, I also am so uneducated about the subject I don't even know where to really begin, and in fact when I filled out those settings in the first place I was doing so fairly randomly

follow-up thoughts: I'll probably pick something that is a completely different word/sound than "Serian" for the above reasons but also because I already have a lot of important "S" sounds in my world (Saturnine, Silas, Sarita, San Overdell) so I'll have to prepare my brain for A New Word
