Kind of really annoyed! I mentioned that the vet found signs of inflammation in the ultrasound of Oz's digestive tract? This was framed to me at the time as like, 'we didn't find anything', and not, you know, something that explains literally all of Oz's symptoms. Like, there was no 'we found this, here are the next steps', the phone call was 'We didn't find anything, except there's signs of inflammation in her intestines, okay bye'
I looked it up at the time but didn't super look into it, because I'd kind of gotten the impression that this was just kind of expected of a cat who isn't eating enough or something? I thought that surely if it were A Thing the vet would have said something? But tonight I was thinking, like, maybe it's something that has flares and when she goes off her food maybe something has triggered a flare, or something, and it turns out! That it explains literally all of her symptoms
Like, it's itself a symptom, and none of the things that cause it are great, and several of them are chronic, but the cluster of symptoms she has are all related to that one symptom. And I'm so upset, we could have been treating her this entire time
I ordered some cat B-vitamins to be delivered overnight, that's supposed to help the symptoms because it can cause B12 to not get absorbed. Hopefully that helps. And another fun thing, is that when I put her on raw I functionally put her on an elimination diet, which is another treatment process
She has eaten less than half of what she should in a day, but she has eaten. Hopefully she gets her appetite back with the B12 and hopefully the vet is able to actually do something when we can get in to see him.
