Kind of really annoyed! I mentioned that the vet found signs of inflammation in the ultrasound of Oz's digestive tract? This was framed to me at the time as like, 'we didn't find anything', and not, you know, something that explains literally all of Oz's symptoms. Like, there was no 'we found this, here are the next steps', the phone call was 'We didn't find anything, except there's signs of inflammation in her intestines, okay bye'

I looked it up at the time but didn't super look into it, because I'd kind of gotten the impression that this was just kind of expected of a cat who isn't eating enough or something? I thought that surely if it were A Thing the vet would have said something? But tonight I was thinking, like, maybe it's something that has flares and when she goes off her food maybe something has triggered a flare, or something, and it turns out! That it explains literally all of her symptoms

Like, it's itself a symptom, and none of the things that cause it are great, and several of them are chronic, but the cluster of symptoms she has are all related to that one symptom. And I'm so upset, we could have been treating her this entire time

I ordered some cat B-vitamins to be delivered overnight, that's supposed to help the symptoms because it can cause B12 to not get absorbed. Hopefully that helps. And another fun thing, is that when I put her on raw I functionally put her on an elimination diet, which is another treatment process

She has eaten less than half of what she should in a day, but she has eaten. Hopefully she gets her appetite back with the B12 and hopefully the vet is able to actually do something when we can get in to see him.

Got the B12 for her but Of Course her appetite is so bad now that she's refusing the pureed meat I hide her pills in, so I had to force feed it to her. Not a fun morning for anyone

Hopefully it helps

After force-feeding her a B12 pill, she then ate a tiny amount of her breakfast and then I went back to sleep. At noonish, she woke me up again and then ate almost all of her breakfast! (She still refuses to touch spleen)

So, a good sign. She is getting too much bone right now, though, and I'd like to get some more actual red meat in her diet, so when I'm Up I'm going to walk to the store and pick up whatever beef they have on sale, along with a few other groceries

I am home from the store and have successfully gotten groceries, including a couple packs of meat that I'll break down into Oz meals later. It was rough getting home, because I only brought a bag and not my cart, because I am very smart and figured 'I only need a few things, it'll be fine'. And, I mean, it was fine. Just also awful.

When I got home I made dognut donuts -- if you're not familiar with the name (which I am almost positive is a family thing) you are likely familiar with the food, which is fried biscuit dough that's been tossed in a tub of cinnamon and sugar. I've been wanting to try making them for a while now (and actually did a couple nights ago to poor results). This time I got it right and they are delicious, and also very nostalgic. It's a rough one to make alone, so it was always a whole-family affair and a special treat, and there's a lot of good memories associated with them

Gonna finish eating these and then ash will probably be home

I have tried to install this upgrade on my computer seventy four times but it keeps failing because it processes for half an hour and then asks me for a password and times out if I don't enter it fast enough, but of course I have gotten distracted and wandered away by the time the prompt comes up

I wasn't even gone that long this time, just stopped paying attention for long enough to record an episode intro/outro for Arcadia

Anyway, could be coincidence, but Oz also ate her dinner fine, and ate her pill-mush after only a little coercing. I added an ounce of beef to each of her next couple days of meals, because those had already thawed, and I put together new meals with the rest of the beef. Tomorrow I'll see if the B12 pill is easier to crush if I cut it a couple times, so I can try mixing that into the pill-mush and get her to take it that way

Ha I have successfully entered my password and started the update. Literally have been trying to manage that all day.

Speaking of updates, discord has released another one so I'm once again unable to use discord on the computer until that upstreams to my OS

I have had a migraine all evening, and as mentioned I am So God Damn Tired, I was struggling to stay awake a couple times while watching TV with ash, so I'm going to go to sleep in a few minutes here. I have not read my textbook for class tomorrow but Oh Well it's sure not getting done tonight. If I wake up early enough, and actually Wake Up, maybe I can get it done before class.
