For $100, I bought:
One loaf of bread
Two boxes of cereal (store brand)
One box of graham crackers (store brand)
One box of taquitos
One bag of cat food
One tub of cheese balls (store brand)
One bottle of peanuts (store brand)
Ten $1 store brand hostess fruit pies
One bottle of conditioner
Five cases of soda (on buy-two-get-three-free sale, so two cases of soda)

I dunno, just seems like $100 should stretch more than that!

Here's a reminder that the government expects me to report it if I get food from people that I don't pay for and will reduce my benefits accordingly

Also this has been true for a while but boy tubs of cheese balls are not as big as they used to be

(Neither is anything else)

If you're on benefits, I don't think it's possible to survive without committing fraud

Done most of the last page -- three questions left, that will require actual thought and not just copying stuff out of the textbook, but should be able to knock those out after some sleep. Which I'm gonna go do now.

So I should:
-shopping
-clean pet food bowls
-keyboard for ash1
-last page of Japanese homework
-read ch. 6 in Japanese textbook, probably also review ch. 5
-history discussion posts
-empty dishwasher

So obviously I went shopping this morning -- instead of trying to wake up early and walking in the heat and probably finding stuff already sold out, I decided to stay up until they opened and then walk while it was still cool out. It was nice, if tiring and a little depressing. I did start putting water in the pool when I got back, because it's been pretty chronically low for a while and I worry about the filter, and then forgot to turn it off which I do with unfortunate frequency (it's the ADHD).

Before I went to sleep, I did some more homework, and then I slept until four-something. When ash got home we hung out a little, and then he listened to the Breathing Space premier for I think the series finale, and while he did that I studied some and also did a little dicking around on the internet. After that was dinner, and a Taskmaster, and a Let's Game it Out, and then he went to bed and I went to finish my homework. The last three stumped me for a while because it wants you to come up with three requests you'd make of people (like "open the window please") and also to write down who you would be asking -- and I struggled to come up with things to put in the 'who' boxes! I did eventually come up with asking "sensei" to "please repeat that", asking "a friend" to "please disembark the train at Manlove station", and asking "sister" to "please call dad". But the verbs I currently have access to don't really go well with the nouns I currently have access to, for this kind of assignment, or at least I struggled with it. I also was trying very hard to be kind of creative with it while also not bringing stuff in from sources outside the textbook. My goal here is a little bit to judge how the professor will react to certain things. (I do hope she doesn't object to Manlove Station and maybe I should have picked a different one, but, like, that is where I live. Maybe I should have done Starfire.)

Anyway, still have the history assignments to do but they have a later deadline than the Japanese homework, so. I'm going to take a little break for a bit and then maybe look at doing that, or maybe save it until tomorrow. I also want to resume working on making that anki deck with everything we're learning, but I dunno, that's so tedious with so little payoff, except that it actually could be really helpful. I do need something to help me study and keep stuff fresh. I will keep thinking about it.

Obviously my goal is also to be smart and a good boy who does good on his assignments, but part of that is figuring out what the professor thinks is good
